Check a suspicious message from a screenshot
A relative forwards a screenshot of a bank text asking them to click a link. Upload it to ChatGPT or Gemini and ask it to point out the pressure tactics and the next step, not just say it looks fake.
Start step 1 ↓The problem
An older relative forwards a screenshot: a text says their credit card settings have a problem and they must click a link within two hours or their card will be frozen. They ask you if it's real.

How to do it
- 1
Don't click, reply or call back yet
Until you have an answer, don't click the link, don't call the number in the message, and don't give a verification code to anyone, including someone who says they're support. This matters more than opening AI.
- 2
Cover personal details before uploading
Scribble over names, phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers and card numbers. Keep only the message text, the sender name and the link.
- 3
Ask it to quote the message, not just give a verdict
Upload the image, then paste the prompt. You want an explanation you can forward to family: what it wants them to do, which sentence applies pressure, and where to check instead.

Verify through a channel you find yourself
The AI's read is a draft. To really check the account, open the bank app that was already on the phone, or call the number on the bank's official website yourself.
