Write an email you've been dreading
A report has to slip, and you don't want to write a long apology. List the facts you won't budge on, have AI write two lengths, then keep only one thing, one reason and one new date.
Start step 1 ↓The problem
The client proposal due Thursday has to move to next Monday. The reason is the client only sent their numbers Wednesday afternoon, not that you left it to the last day.

How to do it
- 1
Write down the facts in a notepad first
Four lines: the original deadline, what happened, what you've already finished, and the new date you're proposing. Those four lines are your boundary.
- 2
Ask for two lengths
A busy manager usually only needs the short one. Use the second to check: any extra sentence that doesn't match your four facts gets cut.
Prompt - 3
Cut it down to four things
Pick A or B as your base. Check it sentence by sentence against your four facts.
- 4
Check the subject line before you send
The subject should tell them which report and the new date without opening it. Don't write "Sorry" or "Quick question."
