Turn a meeting recording into a summary and to-dos
After the meeting all you have is a messy transcript. Use ChatGPT or Gemini to sort it into what was decided and who does what, then check it yourself before you send it.
Start step 1 ↓The problem
Your weekly meeting ran fifty minutes. You have a recording, or the meeting tool spat out a long, messy transcript.

What to prepare
- A recording or transcript
How to do it
- 1
Start with text you can read
If you have a transcript, use it as is. You don't need to clean out the ums and uhs.
- 2
Ask for notes someone who missed the meeting could read
Paste the transcript under the prompt. The point of this step is to make it separate what was decided from what someone only suggested, and to stop it inventing owners the transcript never named.
Prompt - 3
Rewrite it as a short message for the team chat
Keep the summary in your own notes. People in the group chat only need the to-dos.
Prompt - 4
Check three things before you send it
Check that every name really appears in the transcript, that no date was swapped for one it guessed, and that nothing someone only suggested is listed as decided. Once those three are right, post it.
